Charley Pride announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star and produce a biopic about his life.  Originally, actor Terrence Howard was slated to play Charley, but studio changes delayed and ultimately shelved the Howard film. “Terrence is no doubt a more in-depth actor academically, but Dwayne is such a force on screen,” said Charley. “It startled me a little at first, but he flew down to Dallas and spent a day with me just sitting, talking recently. And when he left it was like parting with an old friend. We had such similar views on so many things.”

Keith and Nicole announced today that their two-year old daughter, Sunday Rose, has a baby sister! Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born through a gestational carrier (what we here at The Farm call a “sarah-gut” mama) at Nashville’s Centennial Womens Hospital on December 28, 2010. Faith Margaret is Urban and Kidman’s biological daughter.

The proud parents issued the following statement: Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.

Congratulations to Keith, Nicole & Sunday Rose!!!

Charlie Daniels’ main barn at his Twin Pines Ranch in Wilson County has burned to the ground. The fire started around 7:30 pm Friday night and animals that were in the barn at the time did die from the blaze. Charlie Daniels’ personal manager says the country music legend was not at home nor was his wife when the fire broke out. The barn and the memorabilia inside were destroyed. The cost of the loss is not yet know, neither is the cause of the fire. This is the same property where parts of the George Strait movie “Pure Country 2″ were shot in 2009.

Yep, Jewel and Ty Murray are going to Mommy & Daddy!!!

Via Twitter, Jewel announced: “Yes, many of you guessed it – I’m pregnant! Ty and I are so excited!”

On the first day of Jewels job as co-host of the new reality show “Going Platinum” on Bravo, she got the news, “I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!”

“It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I’d start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, “oh she’s pregnant.” “

The couple, who married in 2008, had been trying to have a baby for two years. “I have always been a workaholic, so I had to learn how to slow down and take care of myself in a different way,” Jewel says about her struggle to conceive.

“I’m trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy,” says the singer, who in 2009 released a collection of children’s songs titled Lullaby and is now working on a new children’s album. “I feel really lucky.”
